deck of the bay bridge it's blocked off because of the accident. use 1st instead. the good news it's the noncommute direction so hopefully traffic won't be too busy on the lower deck of the bay bridge at the skyway. we are taking a live look at the area there off the freeway. traffic extra volume on that westbound side coming off the upper deck of the bay bridge. no metering lights though as you work your way towards the toll plaza. elsewhere, if you are trying to take bart or ace, everything is right on time. caltrain, ferries looking good. muni no major delays yet so because of that accident, the outbound treasure island bus may be affected. probably they will reroute the first as well because of the essex street ramp being blocked. westbound 580 at airway looks like an accident stuck in lanes with a bit of a backup slow out. altamont pass better once you hit 680. east 580 north greenville to north flynn roadwork should be there until 11:00. so expect delays. that's a look at traffic. here's lawrence. >> all right, gianna. i know you're going to be disappointed but no rain around

at shooting ranges over the years but not recently. cbs reporter marly hall joins us from newtown with more on what's happening. >> reporter: good morning, michelle and brian. it's a week before christmas, and here in newtown, connecticut, many families aren't planning for the holidays but planning funerals and there are several planned in the weeks to come. it's back to school for the children of newtown, connecticut with the exception of the students of sandy hook elementary school. kenneth canfield is a fourth greater at sandy hook. he heard screaming and gunshots in the room he was in. >> it was being banged on by the gunman. >> reporter: kenneth and his classmates won't be returning to sandy hook elementary. when they do go back, they will attend chalk hill school in monroe. >> he said he wouldn't go back unless there's a police officer at every door. >> reporter: for the people of newtown, the grieving continues. more funerals will be held today when james mattioli and jessica rico also laid to rest. the first two funerals were held monday when 6-year-old noah posner and jack pinto w
four people walking on the road, three fell about 30 feet down a hillside. paramedics used back boards and ropes to carry out a rescue. police found a car then with fender damage a short distance away and detained the driver. there will be four people inside that car. one of them was hurt in the crash. the drive was detained. police are evaluating -- the driver was detained and police are evaluating whether the driver was impaired. a woman in her 50s a passenger in the vehicle has life- threatening injuries. >>> a moment of silence is planned this morning in connecticut to honor those who died in last week's mass shooting. cbs reporter marlie hall joins us now from newtown. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it seems like every day here in newtown is a new sense of normal. an endless series of funerals and every day since the tragedy has been a day of mourning but today the nation will stop and remember. >> reporter: at 9:30 this morning, people here in newtown will stop what they're doing and observe a moment of silence to mark the one week point since a shooter killed 26 people

. it is a very busy day for us in the traffic center. we are trying to get an update about 101 at silver, a traffic alert, accident blocking lanes. no word if it's out of lanes. so that traffic alert is still in effect. slow on 101. reports of a new accident north 101 near hospital curve involving five vehicles blocking lanes. this accident reported about 10 minutes ago northbound 280 at alemany also blocking the road. expect delays there. rest bound 24 we had an earlier trouble spot. we are seeing slightly slow conditions there. eastbound, as well. there are reports of an accident at the caldecott tunnel on the eastbound side block at least one bore. it's been a busy ride through the area anyway this morning. also slow as you go in and out of the maze toward the bay bridge toll plaza. you can see the eastshore freeway stacked up as well all the way from highway 4. couple of accidents causing delays. one at university on the westbound side, eastbound at gilman. those should be over to the right shoulder at this point. north 17 at scotts valley road,
